Holocaust Museum presents free workshop in Jackson

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, in cooperation with the Teton County School District and the Jackson Hole Art Association, presents this one-day workshop, free of charge.
The workshop is open to classroom and pre-service teachers. While the content is aimed at mostly social studies and English language arts teachers, teachers of other disciplines are encouraged to apply, as well as librarians and media specialists.
This workshop will feature sessions on guidelines for teaching about the Holocaust and genocide, new classroom-ready lessons from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and a Holocaust survivor speaking to participants.
The workshop will also include a tour and hands-on learning in the USHMM traveling exhibit: Fighting the Fires of Hate: America and the Nazi Book Burnings. This exhibit will be on view at the Art Association from January 21 through March 4.
Free materials, continental breakfasts and lunch will be provided. Registration is at 7:30 AM, with the program starting at 8:00 AM.
Workshop location is at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts, 240 South Glenwood, Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
