MEN'S BASKETBALL RECEIVE ACADEMIC AWARD
Central Wyoming College men’s basketball team received the 2016-17 Team Academic Excellence Award on Wednesday, July 12. The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced all recipients for their fifth annual Team Academic Excellence Awards.
The award was created by the NABC Committee on Academics. The awards recognize academic achievements for teams with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. CWC was one of 212 colleges to receive this award.
“I am extremely proud of our guys for achieving this award. We talk all the time about doing the best we can no matter what it is, whether that is on the court, in the community, or in this case in the classroom. There are a lot of times when student athletes receive recognition for their achievements on the court so it is especially rewarding for us to be able to receive some recognition for their efforts in the classroom. ”
