Madera Guides Students to Culinary Expertise

During her childhood, Amy Madera got an early introduction to the tourism industry over weekend stays at her friend’s family motel in Florida. “My friend and I would take over a guest room, raid the vending machines and watch movies all night,” she said. Madera, who would grow up to direct Central Wyoming College’s culinary arts and hotel and restaurant management programs, saw beyond the recreational aspect of these mini-vacations.

CWC to use RISE grant for Bootstrap Collaborative Center for Innovation

Central Wyoming College will use USDA Rural Innovation Stronger Economy (RISE) grant money to fund the Bootstrap Collaborative Center for Innovation (BCCI). This project will unite five local partners to serve as a focal point for local business development.

Antoine Day is a photography, art, equine management, and criminal justice major. He is originally from Lander but spent a lot of time in San Francisco. Day said he appreciates the variety of skills he has acquired from the degrees he is studying which are related to many different occupations. Day said he wasn’t sure why he decided to study four different degrees but credits his decisions and success to the leaders in his life.

CWC Alumna Becomes a Business Owner, finds success with film and photography

Erendira "Abbey" Morales always enjoyed holding a camera and it was while working on a television show in high school that jump-started her passion for photography and film. Morales’ passion eventually led her to Central Wyoming College which ultimately gave her the skills to open her own business.

Gregory Hernandez Jr. is a sophomore at CWC studying film and theater. Originally from Los Angeles, Hernandez decided to attend CWC for two reasons, the tuition was the best choice for him and he’d never seen snow before.
