FALL SHOWCASE CONCERT NOV. 15

Central Wyoming College vocal and instrumental groups present a Fall Showcase Concert Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre.

Thirteen members of the CWC Handbell Choir, under the direction of Sharon Dalton, perform three pieces. The musicians play Pizzicati, an arrangment by Kevin McChesney of Leo Delibes’s piece; Seasons of the Heart by Karen Lakey Buckwalter, and Allegro con moto by Jason W. Krug.
 
New instrumental director Jason Ogg’s College Band is presenting a program entitled “A Few of My Favorite Themes.” Those favorites include Florentiner March by Julius Fucik; Elegy on an American Folktune by David Holsinger; Finale from Lincolnshire Posy by Percy Grainger; “The Beatles: Echoes of an Era” by John Higgins and the John Philip Sousa tune, King Cotton.
 
The Collegiate Chorale, under the direction of Robert Hussa, also performs at the concert.  The choir sings Sicut Cervus by G.P. Palestrina; God Be In My Head by Sir Jonathan Willcocks; Ubi Caritas by Maurice Duruflé; Feller From Fortune, a Canadian folksong, arranged by Harry Somers, and George Frederick Handel’s Sing Unto God.
 
The concert is free and the public is welcome to attend.
