Stay with it. It will be frustrating and/or scary, but it does get better. ”

What does it mean to you to be a first-gen student?
To be a first-generation student means that I get to pave the way for my family to come to college if that’s the route they choose.

What challenges do/did you encounter as a first-gen student?
I had no one to guide me so at first, it was frustrating not knowing what to do in the beginning.

What advice would you give to future first-gen students?
Stay with it. It will be frustrating and/or scary, but it does get better.

What are you most proud of being a first-gen student?
I am proud of being able to come as far as I have.
