“Explore Your Future” DVR Camp at CWC

"Explore Your Future" DVR Camp at CWC

During June 19-22, 10 students took part in a college-transition camp through the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. The “Explore your Future Camp” exposed students to what it is like to live in a college dorm and eat in the food court.  They also took part in a campus tour, learned how to be an advocate for themselves, took at tour of Wind River Job Corps, and learned about college funding opportunities.  During some of the sessions, the students went through career exploration activities and spent time learning about a variety of major options at CWC.  The students also did a variety of team building activities such as a scenic float in Thermopolis, archery tag, and more.  Michael Cheek and Anne Even with the Business, Technical, and Workforce Department were contracted by Department of Vocational Rehabilitation to design and facilitate this project.  The students were from Lander, Riverton, Pavillion, Casper, and Cody.
