Gratitude Week: Marcella Roman

Gratitude Week: Marcella Roman

A collage of Marcella Roman's family

I’m thankful for my FAMILY

For loving me unconditionally, supporting me, and believing in me when I didn’t believe in my self

Always willing to help care for my boys while I’m at work or school

Motivating me to obtain a college degree, while also having a 4.0 gpa for my third semester straight

Introducing me to a beautiful world, and to a big family

Listening to me vent over stress, cry because of a broken heart, and laugh with joy

You’re always going to be in my heart and soul Forever and Always

I’m proud to be a first-generation, student ambassador,  TRIO, a medical assistant student attending Central Wyoming College. A simple pleasure I’m grateful for is waking my kids up in the morning to get ready for school. Their smiles on their faces when they first open their eyes are priceless.

I’m grateful for my laptop, mouse, backpack, and Microsoft Office product key. I would like to say thank you to my Northern Arapaho Tribe. A laptop is important in college.

One of the happiest memories I have is spending holidays and birthdays with my family and going out of town. I’m thankful for the nice weather outside. I’m happy with how far I’ve come with my education and my 4.0 gpa. A possession that makes my life easier would be the auto start on my Jeep, especially with this Wyoming weather. One thing I’ve been given that I’m grateful for is money to pay for my schooling with scholarships and grants. One way I can help others is by explaining my story of attending Central Wyoming College. There is help, scholarships, grants, and money out there. TRIO helps with guiding you in the right direction, school supplies, backpacks, laptops, calculators, and anything else you may need to start a new path to a college degree. I’m a proud TRIO first-generation student. This is college life! I look forward to seeing you all on campus. I’m a student ambassador and would love to help you if you need a friend, advice, or just a helping hand. I’m thankful for all of the student ambassadors and all of the community services we were able to provide during this pandemic. I’m grateful for Kristy Jones, Tamara Forbis, Bob Lebeda, Susan Kreager, Lisa Appelhans, and the rest of the instructors at CWC. You all have been so supportive and patient with my learning abilities. Your guidance and assistance doesn’t go unnoticed. I’m thankful for the Bookstore for allowing me to work there and rent my books, and buy some of the new gear.

A friend I’m grateful for is Serena Vasquez, she’s helped me so many times in clinicals, and Phlebotomy. She’s been a team player so many times. I accomplished my checkoffs for clinicals today and it felt so good to be at the college (even though there weren’t any other students there). I am close to being done with my medical assistant certification. I am pursuing an associates degree in health science, and business management. I have learned so much these past couple of years. I’ve given a lot of time, sweat, blood (literally for Phlebotomy), and tears of joy to these programs. Stay safe! Thanks for listening.
