The CWC student farmers, under the direction of Ethan Page, Farm Manager/Instructor, are participating in the Grow a Little Extra Program, a project of the Wyoming Hunger Initiative. The Wyoming Hunger Initiative provided $500 grants to purchase seeds and supplies to gardeners who would grow extra produce to distribute to families in need. The CWC student farmers set aside garden space at the ASI to grow a variety of vegetables for the program. So far, they have harvested nearly 49 pounds of vegetables. Each week, the produce is taken to the Fremont County Extension office, where Centsible Nutrition weighs and prepares the produce for distribution by Lander’s Care and Share Foodbank to families in need.
