Life @ Central

With the college located in Riverton, Wyoming, at the base of the Wind River Mountains, CWC is the center of outdoor recreation heaven. Streams and rivers in the area are teeming with trout. The nearby Sinks Canyon is a rock climber's dream, and Boysen Lake is famous for the “glass” conditions savored by water skiers. Togwotee Pass, South Pass and the Sinks are excellent places for Nordic skiing. Of course, Wyoming is wild and wildlife is abundant.

Activities

The Student Center at Central Wyoming College is the hub of student activities at CWC. You can relax in the student lounge and watch movies or play games. Drink a latte at Rusty’s, dine in the Food Court Bar & Grill, play pool or work out in the well-equipped Fitness Center. If you’re competitive, intramural activities are scheduled regularly in the gym or at the campus volleyball pit, soccer fields, and at the new uni-court; a combination basketball/racquet sports facilities. The college also has a new climbing wall.

Cultural Events

Cultural programs offer students the opportunity to see live performances by college groups and touring professionals. The CWC Theater Department stages three or more productions each season and auditions are open to all. Students and community members may also participate in the CWC Collegiate Chorale and Community Band, as well as in student touring ensembles.

Athletics

Central Wyoming College has recently re-introduced intercollegiate men's and women's basketball, as well as volleyball. CWC's rodeo teams are usually the top of their region. The college also has a club soccer team.

Residential Life

CWC has two apartment complexes, a Residence Hall and the newest facility, Mote Hall.
